Vision & Goals

Our People

Nominate a Canadian Hero

PURPOSE

GRATITUDE FOR OUR NATIONS TOP PERFORMERS

Canada is known worldwide for the warmth of its people. Among them are ordinary men and women who perform under extraordinary amounts of stress, pressure and liability.

They have to deal with the grimmest realities of the world. Their job is to perform at the highest level on everyone else's worst day; mitigating emergency, providing relief, safety, treatment and calm in the middle of chaos. All this despite working 12, 24 and 48 hour shifts, or being deployed for months at a time overseas. Any rest is at risk of being interrupted by blaring radio tones, sirens, screams, accident, attack, death or destruction.

When everyone else is running away, doesn't know what to do, or has nobody else to call, these men and women step in, often putting their own lives at risk. There is nobody more deserving of a break.

UNDERSTAND

A WORD ON MENTAL HEALTH

Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and rates of suicide are many times the national average when it comes to people who work these professions. They willingly sacrifice their time, energy and compassion to perform in fast thinking, high capacity operations day in and day out. This is often times at the expense of their health and well-being.

Mental health conditions can be misleading, debilitating and hard to manage. They are still not taken seriously by many people who fail to understand that they can tear apart everything a person has and knows, sometimes convincing them that life itself is not worth living.

First responders, medical professionals and military members are very susceptible to these conditions because of the nature of their work and the stresses they often have to face.

DIFFERENCE

EDUCATION & CHANGE

All Units Abroad provides a life changing gift for one person and their family at a time. But the impact spreads far and wide through the life of that individual; their peers, family and friends, town or city and the country as a whole when we show all of Canada what makes that person exceptional. The job and the individuals are our focus.

It takes something special to be employed in these lines of work, and we want to make that knowledge a more integral part of the society we live in. From children in elementary school to adults in the professional setting, we all rely on these everyday heroes. Knowing who they are in our communities and what they have to do everyday is the least we can do to pay it forward.

We encourage you to be part of this journey with us; to making our home an even better, more united and stronger Canada.
